This is what ONE looks like 🎂

Cake in both hands. Icing on both arms. Eyes wide with the absolute wonder of discovering that food can also be a toy. Pure, perfect, glorious one.

I know some parents worry that their baby won’t enjoy it or won’t know what to do, and that is completely normal! That is why we start every session gently, with family portraits to let your little one settle into the space and get comfortable with me before the fun begins.

Then we move into the pre-smash with our beautiful one year props and balloons, before the main event where your baby finally meets the cake.

We finish with the most adorable bubble bath shoot to clean them up before you head home, happy, covered in memories and with a full gallery to treasure forever.

Everything is provided, outfits for your little bundle, props, balloons and the cake itself. You just show up and enjoy every single second.

This is the session parents tell me they wish they had booked sooner.

The absolute unbridled joy of being one year old and having absolutely no idea how completely wonderful you are.

This is what milestone sessions are made for. Not perfect, posed, stiff little portraits but real, alive, full of personality moments that look exactly like your child actually looks. The laugh, the curiosity, the tiny hands exploring everything in sight.

Can I say something to the mum to be who is running on empty right now?

You do not need to feel your best to look your best. You do not need to have your hair perfectly done, your life perfectly organised or your energy levels anywhere near normal. You just need to get ready show up, and I will take care of absolutely everything else.

I know pregnancy can feel relentless sometimes. The tiredness, the aches, the days where you just do not feel like yourself at all. But here is what I also know, when you are sitting in my studio and we start capturing this season of your life, something shifts. My clients always tell me how much they needed that time, just for them.

You deserve that too.

Your outfits are ready and waiting, there is nothing to organise, nothing to stress about. Just you, your bump and a couple of hours that are entirely yours.

For me, keeping a gratitude list is one of them. I know, I know, it’s proven to improve pretty much every area of your life, from sleep to relationships to stress.

When I was talking to a dear friend recently, we got onto the subject of something that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about since then:

What would you do if you didn’t have any other obligations?

For most of us, that’s an impossible scenario.
Still, it’s an interesting way to get the wheels turning and think about what means the most to you in your life.

To be completely honest, I would still do the same kind of work that I do now... Which I think is evidence I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
