I was lucky enough to see Spurtle, a rather famous member of the Moray Firth pod of Bottle-nosed Dolphins, while guiding the other week. She suffered severe sunburn when stranded in 2016 and, against all the odds, survived. Her scarring makes her easy to identify and this year she had has a calf!

My next week guiding was split between Strathspey and Fife including a trip to the Isle of May. We had mixed weather during the week but some amazing birds including all the usual seabirds, Roseate Tern, Long-eared Owl and Slavonian Grebe

The weather in the second week was so different, for a start it was at least 10 degrees warmer! I don't think I had a coat on all week and was mostly in short sleeves. A first for me was visiting Handa in the NW, staying overnight at the Inchnadamph Hotel. Handa was one of those amazing seabird experiences with close encouters with Arctic & Great Skuas, Fulmars, Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills etc. There are also a few pairs of Red Grouse on the island. The rest of the week featured great views of both Golden and White-tailed Eagles plus many other Scottish specialities. I've now got a week off before the next tour starts.

I've been catching up on my photos from the last two weeks guiding. These are my favourites from the first week - we were based in Nethy Bridge with trips to both the west & east coasts as well as down to Royal Deeside
