Hi Tartan Warriors, we had planned on postponing the race to 4th October however we have seen a number of other Spring and Summer events now moving to September and October, with at least 3 or 4 on the 4th October, and as a result a number of you have 10+ races in the space of 3 or 4 weeks with some of you having to make choices between races.
Having gone through the emotional and stressful decision to postpone to October. We have had to make a really tough decision again to postpone Tartan Warrior for a whole year and host the event on 21st March 2021. This places the event in the same time period you booked originally so hopefully doesn’t clash with family holidays, etc. It means we are not adding to the mass of events in September and October. It means the horrible pandemic should be completely out of the way. It is a whole year away so hopefully one of the first things to write on the calendar to look forward to for 2021.
We will transfer all entries to the 2021 date. We would really appreciate your understanding in our need to transfer your place to 2021.
As you can imagine with the pandemic being declared around a week before the event everything was planned and ready to go. We had invested heavily in the event. Cancellation of the event was not an option.
We are not a massive race with a massive budget or large profits that can take the hit for all the outgoings so far. We are a very small race with a tight budget. We have always strived to keep entry fees as low as possible while still putting on a quality event that puts the hundreds of racers first.
If you are unable to attend on the new date we are removing transfer fees so you can sell the entry on to a friend, family member or someone else that didn’t manage to get entered.
We hope you, your friends and families all stay safe in this pandemic. Please bare with us through these extremely tough times and we look forward to seeing you all take to the start line on 21st March 2021 to give Tartan Warrior the send off it deserves and to give you all the race you deserve.
