For the next month, every 2 days a new post has been scheduled introducing you to the Helping Others team! Make sure you give the page a follow as these people are the grass roots of our Goole community! I have taking portraits of each of the volunteers and interview them so you can really get to know the people who go above and beyond for the Goolies💚
Get ready for the next month as we shine light on all the Helping Others volunteers! Get to know the team, and don’t forget to comment if you have experiences with these amazing people you’d love to share💚
Starting off with…
💚 Volunteer Spotlight: Mel 💚
This week we’re celebrating Mel!
A lifelong Goole resident, Mel has worked in NHS social services, safeguarding, moving and handling, and youth support. Her passion for helping people led her to Helping Others after Nikki created a group for Helping Others, before it became what it has today.
Mel loves holidays abroad and is especially involved in Cyprus, becoming an official ambassador for the country!
For Mel, Helping Others is all about community. She loves bringing people together, supporting individuals through difficult times, and ensuring nobody feels alone. For Mel, she as realised how much of a needed comminuty Helping Others is.
She has seen first-hand the difference the charity makes and says the support available through Helping Others can be life-changing for many people, including the olives of volunteers too, taking in individuals who have struggled, and given them the opportunity to work in the shop.
Mel has learned so much from the charity, one thing being never to judge others because no one is in the same situation.
Thank you, Mel, for your compassion, experience, and dedication. 💚
