The Wildlife of Foxybiddy Lodge

The Wildlife of Foxybiddy Lodge I would use these three words to describe how I work:
PASSION, PATIENCE, PERSEVERANCE!

I spend as much time as possible out and about in the Somerset countryside, patiently watching and waiting for that special moment. You can tell by my pictures that I have experienced many "right moments"
When I am not out and about I am making hand-made photograph cards, mounting prints and editing pictures, which are sold at several local venues throughout the local area.

Good Morning from Foxybiddy Lodge!

You’d never guess by the weather we’ve endured over the last two days that most of these pics were taken yesterday! Just a golden hour, late afternoon, so I took advantage of it and went out into the garden.
Such a shame I was unable to take pics today, asi had a flock of Redwings and also two Bramblings visiting …… thankfully they arrived safely through the storm.

If you have bird-feeders in your garden, then there's no doubt that you will have mice. I've spent the last month on and off, and weather permitting, seeking them out and photographing them. I love photographing small mammals, being so low down, tiny and super fast, they are quite a challenge, but very rewarding. The two species here are Wood Mice and Short- tailed Voles

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in the Highlands, so I spent a few hours in the garden, and just inside the forest. I'd seen both our visiting Red Squirrels in the garden feeding, but wanted to try and catch them in their more natural wild environment. I got lucky, when I spotted one in a small pine tree feasting on pinecones!

Sitting at my PC, ordering the prints of our Red Squirrel, to make Christmas cards, I can see that very same squirrel running up and down the Larch tree with Monkey nuts it’s taken from the squirrel feeder, and stashing them farther up the tree! It doesn’t get much better than that! 😊
