There’s nothing quite like finally finishing a job, ticking the last thing off your to-do list, and feeling that weight lift from your shoulders.

For me, it’s seeing an empty editing queue and knowing every client has their photos. 🙌🏻

Back to what I know and love… ❤️

I’ve been running my photography business for almost 8 years now and, before renting my studio space, I was exclusively mobile.

There’s something so special about stepping in to a family’s home and capturing those early days exactly as they are. The tiny noises, the feeds in between photos, the chats about birth stories and sleepless nights… it’s such a privilege to be invited in.

Sunday morning’s session was completely baby-led and so relaxed, and it reminded me why I fell in love with newborn photography in the first place.

There were so many things I loved about studio photography, but you really can’t beat an at-home session during those first few weeks of your baby’s life 🤍

And if you swipe to the final image, you’ll see the beautiful pink blanket we included in the shoot… it was actually the blanket Mum was brought home in as a newborn herself 🥹 those sentimental touches always make photos even more special.

What you see vs. What I see! 😍

I’m not going to lie to you - booking a newborn shoot when you have a 2 year old is always going to be a gamble, but we get whatever we can get, whenever we can get it! Absolutely no pressure to pose if they’re not feeling it.

I’ve done this job for nearly 8 years and the secret to success is going about your business and getting the shots you need until the older sibling is curious enough to come and get involved 🥰

Had my handsome nephews in yesterday and they were dreamy! Maybe it’s because at this point, they’re not phased by their auntie holding a camera or maybe it’s just the magic photographer skill I have…

Bit of a big one from me today 😭

I didn’t think I’d ever be writing this, but my last day in the studio will be 2nd May.

Last year brought a lot we never expected as a family, and this little baby has been the biggest surprise of all. As much as it’s such a special chapter, it does mean my business needs to take a small step back for a while.

This space has been so much more than just a studio. It’s been my little sanctuary and the place where I’ve met so many of you and captured some of the most special moments.

I’m so sad to be letting it go, but I know it’s not forever.

I’m not going anywhere, though. I’ll still be offering in home newborn sessions, outdoor family shoots, birth and just born hospital photography.

But if you’ve ever wanted a studio session, this is your last chance.

I make the WORST wedding guest because all I want to do is take photos 📸🙈

Had the pleasure of ‘attending’ (and accidentally photographing) the wedding of my beautiful friends yesterday.

As a photographer it’s virtually impossible to ask me not to take photos because I’m going to spend the day saying ‘I’d have shot that’ or ‘the photographer should be capturing this’ and it’s really quite unbearable 😂

So lucky to have the lovely to trust when it was time to take over and actually ‘switch off’.

(Plot twist: I didn’t switch off and it was physically painful for me to put my camera away)

It may have rained yesterday but there was nothing the weather could do to wash the smile off S & G's faces! ☔️

From the very moment I arrived at Over Barn my bride was practically bursting to get down the aisle.

The photos were effortless - absolutely no posing needed because it's evident that these guys are made for each other!

Congratulations to a wonderful couple on a wonderful day ❤️

There is something so powerful about slowing down and remembering why I do this.

Tiny hands and big siblings who are already so proud. New parents who are right in the middle of the most emotional, overwhelming and beautiful chapter of their lives.

I know social media can make it feel like everyone else is winning. Like everyone else is booking faster, growing quicker, getting further. I’ve had those wobbles too. But then I walk into a session like this and I remember that none of that noise matters.

What matters most with what we do is trust and connection. Creating photographs you’ll look back on and feel everything all over again.

If you’re a mum-to-be or a new mum in Cheltenham or the Cotswolds and you want natural, baby led, relaxed newborn photography with zero pressure and lots of warmth, I’d love to welcome you into my studio.

A really special newborn session at the studio recently 🤍

This little one arrived two weeks early and mum and dad were worried they’d miss the newborn window, but we managed to squeeze them in and the session was just lovely.
