Having a little fun with lighting in the Forest of Dean. This fungi season I'd really like to get creative with light painting and glowing mushroom caps! It looks as though there is going to be plenty of subject material to do so as well with all this wet weather.

There are still a few spaces left on my Autumn workshops and I'd love to see you there! 😁 In the Forest of Dean you can fungi hunt with me, or you can join me on a beautiful waterfall trail in South Wales. These will be the last local workshops I'm running for the next year or so, as I'll be travelling a lot in 2026 and focusing on other projects. Looking forward to doing some photography with some of you in the very near future 🍂🍄

I recently gave insect photography a go! A wild change from photographing still subjects with my macro lens, but I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. I made a friends with a few stink bugs, stared wasps dead in the eye and survived, and realised exactly how many bugs are teeming around the forest floor. Forest naps will never be the same again.

'Hello!

I’m Courtney Victoria, one of the lead photographers at Siren Adventure and Photography Tours. I am a landscape and macro photographer, usually found deep in the forest or following waterfall trails, looking for the oddities and magic of nature.

After my first trip to Iceland earlier this year, I fell in love with the landscape! Iceland is straight out of a fantasy novel (and I do love a good fantasy book!), from glacial lagoons, mountain peaks capped in snow and majestic waterfalls to lava fields and if you’re lucky enough, the Aurora Borealis!

Now I am ready to go back for more and to share the experience with other like-minded people. With my experience in photography and teaching, I will make sure that you come away with the best photos possible, taking the time to walk you through techniques, composition and gear where necessary. With my confidence in travel, after having lived in rural Asia for 4 years in 2016, I will take you on adventures from Reykjavik to lesser travelled locations like Vestrahorn.

We certainly put our Vanguard Photo UK VEO Active camera bags through their paces ha! I am not one for treating my kit kindly a lot of the time, I choose gear that should be able to cope with harsh conditions and situations, and this bag does the job!
