'What if my baby doesn't play ball during their newborn photoshoot?'
It's a common concern, but you really don't need to worry.
One thing my clients regularly comment on is my patience. I've been doing this a long time now and I can handle whatever your little one throws at me.
Because I only ever schedule one newborn photoshoot per day, we'll never feeling rushed, and can go entirely at your baby's pace.
If they are just having a fussy day, I've got ways of soothing them, from the toasty 26°C temperature to keep baby comfortable even when undressed, to the white noise machine and even a gentle vibration feature on the posing table. I'll usually try to soothe baby myself, because we all know that the second they catch a whiff of Mum, they'll decide it's snack time!
If baby is wide awake and refusing to sleep, then I'll make the most of it by capturing their big bright eyes, their funny little expressions, and those gorgeous stretches, before gently encouraging them to sleep with my expert swaddling skills! Parents are usually amazed at how content that makes their little one, and how quickly they drift off.
Sometimes the newborns I work with are genuinely struggling with wind, reflux, or other tummy troubles. In these cases, I'll adjust the plan to avoid certain types of poses that might make them uncomfortable. And if they are truly unwell, we simply pause and reschedule.
Even when parents leave feeling like it was a complete disaster, they're always happily surprised.
