Today marked my last visit to the Edinburgh Open Workshop, and I made sure to document as much as possible. I photographed Greg sharpening his blades, the in-house leather artist at work, and the welder assembling frames for one of the fourth-year students. From there, I captured the general activity within the space. Editing remained straightforward, though I had to work efficiently since the images were shot and finalized in a shorter timeframe than usual due to being ill a few weeks back when I’d originally planned to photograph the space....

For this visit, I was assigned to document a maker who had booked time in the textile room to utilize the available equipment. After coordinating with them, I planned to work around their timetable, capturing their workflow across various tools, including the overlocker throughout the day. This allowed me to document their creative process in depth, from setup to ex*****on. As I was ill the week prior when I was initally going to photogrpah the space, the images were shot and edited and a short span of time compared to the usual timetable that was followed....

Since the images from EOW’s Family Day needed to be delivered quickly, my post-production process focused on streamlining the process and prioritising sending the images across. Most of the shots only required basic adjustments such as fine-tuning the highlights and shadows to ensure balanced exposure and consistancy within the portraits shot for EOW. The Rotolight kit minimized major corrections and as per usual for most shoots played a key role for exposure, allowing me to edit in batches without extensive retouching....

Thank you to everyone who came to support me and my groups exhibition over past couple of days. The opening night left me swept off my feet with the amount of love I received (and exhaustion I'm still recovering from!). It was amazing to hear different stories, and having touched different people with my silly wee book.

Our exhibition is on for another few days yet so get yer self down to see some amazing work by amazing people if you haven't already!

Strange field, Glasgow 105 French St. G40 4EH
The opening Night is on the 1st April from 5-9pm and the exhibition is open from 2nd to 6th from 12pm - 5pm
