I love a dip, both as a photographer and as an observer at a wedding. The symbolism - support, trust, bit of throwback glamour - is great. Visually I'm a fan. But dips are also ever-so-slightly absurd aren't they, which is why this is one of my fave dips of last year: and hitting the perfect blend of elegance and genuine laughter and enjoyment.

Ok: cold dark winter weddings are great and a fun challenge from a photographic perspective, but as I complete finish editing the last of my December 2025 weddings I am, for now, very much OVER winter. Looking at this wedding from September is getting me very excited to have that big bright ball in the sky involved again.

The Ravenswood a month ago - EJ and Tom. Glam, chill, gentle, and simultaneously super up for it, it was a lovely wedding to photograph. I’m really happy with the energy and atmosphere of their gallery - proof that even if you have murky light and gloomy, short days in mid-December, your photos could still be iconic.

Thanks for having me and Tom.
Thanks for seconding and going round the lake.

I love winter weddings but I’m conscious of picking up a lot of new followers recently and wanted to lighten up the grid a bit, so wanted to show one of my favourite summertime weddings from 2025. Mollie & Jimmy at Oxleaze Barn. Just loved this day, and them. SUPER excited and tiny bit emotional that they have a new, small Riglin-Hall joining them this year. Eep!

Love me a London ‘micro’ wedding. Audrey got ready with close friends at One Hundred Shoreditch, meeting Anthony in the ceremony room at Islington Town Hall. I shot hybrid (photo and video) and the ceremony was live-streamed to family who couldn’t be there, then it was outside for confetti then family photos, and few very quick portraits, and then over to their restaurant (which I’ve not included here).

I was only with the group for a few hours but the energy was so high, the laughter was almost constant and the affection, care and enjoyment of the day so very obvious. Thanks for having me guys!

A quick one about prep. The lovely Polly (.millar) got ready (on-site at ) with her mum and her sis Libby. Dad came over for the reveal and then they all walked Polly to the ceremony space. It was such a warm and good-natured vibe.

Why get photos of getting ready? Different reasons for different people probably: it’s your last act before getting married. You have some of the most special people in your life with you. It’s ritualistic. It’s a chance for a one-off portrait or two before the kisses and tears and heat and rain and sweat smudge that makeup, if you care about that. And it’s natural, candid photos in an environment of shared effort, care-taking and love.

If you want nice photos in prep (and they’re not obligatory) here are my tips:
1. Tidy up! Has a big impact on both the photos and the feeling. Tidy room tidy mind!
2. TVs off. Bring a Bluetooth speaker for music
3. Experienced makeup artists are your friend and mine! They get things done on time so there’s no mad rush, and they’ll have that pin/scissors/thing someone suddenly needs. Shout out to Polly’s MUA who always does such amazing work and is always super calm
4. If you want a proper bridal portrait, get that dress on and let’s do it. Leave a little time. Honestly we can do it in five minutes, but let’s do it with ten minutes to spare, rather than right down to the wire.

I’m an advocate of finding a little headspace before walking into that ceremony room. Oddly, taking a few pictures can be quite calming and help get you into the here and now, ready for the next, special, part of the day.

High level winter glamour with Team E-Leate aka EJ ( ) & Tom at the weekend. Absolutely beautiful day at . String quartets, incredible band, constant laughs and probably the best first dance I’ve seen all year.

Thanks for shooting with me - always a joy to have a second pair of hands and massive moustache nearby on a busy hybrid day.

Dawn and the team at The Ravenswood - thanks for all help, extreme competence and warmth.

So nice to meet who was a dream to work with and super considerate.

Most of all EJ & Tom - you guys are awesome and were super good sports. Enjoy that mini-moon!

It’s London, it’s December, and it’s an historic union of gentle French beauty (that’s Lucas) and vibrant English elegance (that’s Louisa). There was an historic building and a trendy bomb, there was a London bus trip, there was a random duck breast on a windscreen, I spoke schoolboy French during family photos so badly even I didn’t know what I was saying, and Louisa and Lucas, and their people, were legends all day. All day.

Most of all, L&Lhad all the good feelings.
