Did you know that Fraserburgh is the largest shellfish port in Europe? 🦞 This bustling harbour town in Aberdeenshire is steeped in history.

Kinnaird Head is the site of Scotland's first-ever lighthouse, now housing the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses.

The area even has a cautionary tale for the digital age! In 2005, the fishing vessel Sovereign ran aground nearby

As it turns out - the watchkeeper was distracted by emails on his mobile phone! 📵

As I arrived before sunrise in the dark, I was astonished to find what seemed to be a lighthouse on the moon. The lunar landscape of Capelinhos, with its otherworldly features, created a haunting ambiance.
The lighthouse was partially buried by a volcanic eruption in 1957-1958, not too long ago, and the pure lava and ash have remained almost untouched.
