His photography started some 20 years earlier, honing his skills with black and white processing. Michael’s articles & images have appeared in a number of magazines. Michael is a member of The Royal Photographic Society (RPS). Awards from various societies have been in the form of Gold and Bronze medals, plus numerous ribbons and commendations. Exhibitions and displays play a big part in Michael’
s activities. “The big advantage with displaying your pictures, people can see what a picture will look like on their wall, or as a gift to someone. I often loan out pictures to people so they can see what a big picture will look like in their house.” Says Michael. Michael’s formal education and for much of his life, he practiced as a charted mechanical engineer. Over his informative years he developed a passion for photography that has brought him to where he is today- totally immersed in all things photographic! Over Michael’s early years he was very fortunate to meet several people who were extremely helpful with photography and gave him direction and purpose. How to look at a picture, what did you see when looking through the viewfinder and why did you take it? A question Michael often asks of photographers who are taking their photography more seriously. Michael resides in Hampshire, England, UK with his wife, surrounded by Charley the dog, two horses and at the last count, seven grandchildren. – Now there’s a photographic challenge!
