Old Kilchattan Kirk on the island of Luing off the west coast of Scotland.

The burial ground has been in use since Medieval times with the last burial taking place in 2004.

The kirk itself, now a ruin, is believed to have been built in the 13th century and there are carvings in the outer wall of viking longboats, estimated to be 800 years old.

Galeón Andalucía Andalucía is a full-sized replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon. She’s been docked at Ayr Harbour for the past fortnight and will be heading to Tobermory on Monday.

She’s a floating, travelling museum and we had a fascinating wander around learning about life on a galleon. One obvious lesson - they were not built for people 6ft tall (the average height of a Spanish man at the time was 5ft 5").

As we came out the sun was just starting to set over Arran.

The dam at Clatteringshaws Loch in Dumfries and Galloway.

The loch is a freshwater reservoir created when the River Dee was dammed as part of the Galloway Hydro Electric Scheme. From the dam's outflow the Dee continues on to Loch Ken and then southwards to the Solway Firth.
