Leica has announced a new special edition of its popular Q3 43 compact camera, in collaboration with Formula 1. It differs quite significantly from other Leica cameras due to the fact that it is built around a carbon fibre shell.

Results of Competition 1 Open was theme of this week’s meeting, John Ashford from Nairn was again welcomed and swiftly moved on to judge the prints. The top prints were:
1. Golden Eagle Feeding by Gordon Grant scoring 20 points,
2. Fly Back Peter, a stunning image of a Stonechat landing by Mark Greaves, 19 points
3. Mountain Hare again by Mark Greaves with 18 points.

After the break Roy Maddison from Long Eaton joined us via Zoom and judged the projected digital images. 30 images were entered and the top images were:
1=. Saving Tackle by John MacGregor, this image was also top monochrome
1=. Tucked in Behind by Gerry Wells; both scoring 20 points
2=. Going Nowhere by Alasdair Joyce
2=. Tower Bridge by John MacGregor
2=. River Findhorn by George Taylor; all scoring 19 points.
3. Low Tide and Dark Sky by Tony Lewis.

Both judges were deservedly thanked by Club members and President Rhona Cameron added her congratulation to the top images.

Next week members will show their images from the first Challenge ‘Kitchen’ which will see who is a Cordon Blue chef and who is a Cordon Noir chef!

This week we eagerly look forward to hearing the results of our first competition of the year. The digital image judge is Roy Maddison from Long Eaton and John Ashford from Nairn is print judge.

Tomorrow is also submission night for Competition Two - Frame, framed and Framing.
