Same eye. Different medium.
As many of you know, I’m also a photographer, but until now I’ve mostly kept my artwork and photography separate online.
I’ve gone back and forth on whether to bring it all under the same umbrella, and have finally given my head a wobble and accepted that I was overthinking it and making my life harder by trying to run multiple social media accounts.
So, from now on, everything will sit under the Studio McKinney umbrella.
For me, it all comes back to the same thing: a love of animals, the countryside and capturing the things I’m drawn to, whether that’s with a pencil, a paint brush or a camera.
I’m also planning to bring the photography and painting together in a signature commission package in the new year, which I’m rather looking forward to and will share more details over the coming weeks.
So here’s a little introduction to the photography side of Studio McKinney, I love creating monochromatic images with photography, there's something so striking about them but it's also something I don't create with other mediums so I think it's a nice addition to my portfolio.
As you can see my obsession with Scotland carries over into the horses that inspire me, I'm an absolute sucker for a Highland Pony and a Clydesdale.
