🚨Seabirds in crisis. Five more species, including Arctic Tern and Great Skua, now face the highest conservation threat level in the UK.

Climate change, predators, bird flu and lack of food are pushing these populations to the brink.

Urgent action is needed to protect our iconic seabirds, including upholding the decision to close sandeel fishing in the English North Sea and all Scottish waters.

That was intense! I just attempted photographing the moon for the first time, and I was surprised by how fast it moves! My original plan was to capture the Sturgeon Moon on Monday night, and I put a lot of effort into scouting several locations in preparation. Despite the forecast of clouds and light drizzle, I decided to go ahead that evening. Unfortunately, the drizzle turned into rain, the clouds were thick and fast-moving, and I stayed out late hoping for a glimpse of the moon beside my chosen landmark. But, the moon never made an appearance.

Still, it was a memorable experience. Although I didn’t get the shot I had planned of the Sturgeon Moon, I’m grateful I was able to capture these images of the moon last night in the New Forest, my home. In the end, it feels even more fitting and magical.

I can't leave this handsome guy out (the Common Tern) as he kept me company, landed and posed beautifully directly in front of me, clearly enjoying the spotlight and attention!

I was blessed to capture one of the UK's smallest seabirds, a Little Tern, in ethereal flight mode high up in the sky. It was incredibly challenging as they are fast in flight. There were moments I watched it perform the most captivating and elaborate aerial displays. Hours passed me by as I watched in wonder.

Its nesting sites are vulnerable due to the effects of climate change and human disturbance, and its decline in Europe makes it an Amber List species.

This little seabird has truly captured my heart. With all the projects and conservation work that is currently going on by volunteers and bird specialists here in the Solent, I hope Little Tern numbers increase and they move into the Green List species.

Out photographing shorebirds Saturday afternoon and totally lost track of time. I only had 3 hours on the parking clock. The return walk to the car would be a good half hour +. As I’m headed back I see this ahead of me, a big ominous looking storm cloud brewing and I immediately put all my gear away and started speed walking!! as my parked car was in that direction! Thankfully I got to it just before the heavens opened and I’m grateful as didn’t have any waterproofs on me! Few!!! 🌨️😮‍💨

Hay fever sufferers will understand how difficult it can be out in the field at this time of the year but when you see this much vibrant yellow rapeseed in full bloom you have to just grin and bear it! I could do with being a foot taller when it comes to landscape photography, my short height is a hindrance! Hope you all enjoy 😁

I nearly walked past this mixed trio of snake's head fritillaries, tucked away in the long grasses of the forest floor. Thankfully a ray of sunshine beamed down on them, bringing their stunning colours to life.

The pink-and-purple-chequered pattern resembles a snake, hence the name. They are sadly a declining delicate plant due to the loss of our meadows, and can only be seen in the spring time. Very grateful I was able to both see and capture them in the sunlight.
