As I go through some self development, I’ve been pondering on this question recently.
People often tell me they first came for the photographs but stayed for the conversations, the encouragement, the introductions and the feeling that someone genuinely believes in them and has their back.
I know what it feels like to wonder whether your voice matters, whether people are interested in your story and whether you are really ready to step forward.
For years I underestimated the importance of visibility. I thought good work would naturally be discovered. What I have learned is that visibility is simply helping more people discover the work you are already doing.
And when that work has the potential to make a positive difference in someone’s life, being visible becomes incredibly important.
