If you don't like heights then please turn away now... So the cab of this Liebherr LHM 550 at the Port of Dover is 25m from the ground and the tower stretches for another 10m above that. It can shift 104 tonnes and runs off vegetable oil. The driver raced up to his cab like a wiry monkey whilst I tried to keep up with my backpack full of camera gear and a tripod. The clear waters of the West Coast of Scotland are home to - amongst other things - mussels that are subtly sweet with a hint of brine and rich in omega-3s. Ignoring the fact that it seems to be raining (everywhere), spring is only 6 weeks away. If you're making plans to celebrate close to home, this property I photographed (see below) is near Capel-le-Ferne not far from the sound mirror and overlooking the cliffs and sea (Straits of Dover / English Channel). Balfour Winery is launching the Winemakers' Kitchen this weekend and I was able to capture some previews of the space on a day that was crisp, dry and fresh (a bit like their white wines). The menu pairs local seasonal ingredients matched with their authentic English wines and wherever you sit, there's an amazing view over the vineyard.
