I took this photo 11 years ago, I had just upgraded to a Phantom 2 with mission planning software on Windows and I was testing it out. The camera had to be set before take off too and it was a case of hoping and praying you got the shot (there was no video link). Everything on that table is now wrapped up in a simple controller, smartphone and an app, the drone is half the size, 2.5 times the battery life and a fraction of the weight.
