It doesn't seem that long ago that I was writing last year's Christmas post, and if my social media is anything to go by then I haven't been up to much at all! But, it's been an incredibly busy year with lots of new clients, the training courses have all gone well and of course I'm forever grateful to the clients that continue to use me to help them grow their businesses year in, year out. We've seen a lot of Holkham Park this year with the training courses, it really is a great place to spend a day. So, it seemed fitting that I included a photo of a very hungry buck taken on the course in October - he was continuously grazing and only briefly picked his head up so that we could grab a shot! Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Get your skates on! Just over a week left before our first Essential Camera Skills course at Holkham Hall. There's still a few places up for grabs on the 25th February, March is sold out and April still has good availability. It's a wrap! Apart from the presents of course, I still have to buy them! That's my last job processed and I'm looking forward to next year already. It's been a challenging year, as most of us can vouch for, but I have several commercial shoots booked for January, which I'm really excited about working on, and the training courses are starting to book up which is great - I'm looking forward to passing on some knowledge! I want to say a huge thanks to my commercial customers for entrusting me with making their businesses, products, food and staff look good and also to my portrait and wedding customers - I've been lucky enough to have met lots of lovely people this year and have shot in some amazing places as always. I've shot some beautiful and talented models this year, but I'm afraid my favourite has to be this little guy in the picture! The bitiest and unruliest, but definitely the cutest! Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)

GROUP WORKSHOP – Essential Camera Skills Photography Training Course at HOLKHAM HALL

Have you got a DSLR, CSC or Bridge camera? Do you have a friend or relative that has one and you're struggling for a Christmas gift for them?! If you don’t know your ISO from your Aperture then take control of your camera and move off the Auto setting allowing you to get the shots you really want.

For beginners and improvers, with this photography training course I will help you to break down the science of capturing images and to give you more confidence in the handling of your camera by explaining the 3 basic principles which work together to create an exposure:

Aperture
ISO
Shutter Speed

I will teach you how to balance these to get the results that you want, consistently. It will soon become second nature once you start thinking about these.

Understand camera features from focus to white balance and learn to set your camera up based on the shots you’d like to take.

Theory is all well and good, but we need to put this into practice. We will be doing a practical session in the afternoon so you don’t get too bogged down in the theory and put what you’ve learned to use and go out and take some photos.

With 10 years experience in photography, from event photography to weddings and portrait sessions and onto commercial photography for businesses; I have built up a wealth of experience and knowledge in different areas and can pass on invaluable tips to help ease your path into photography.
