Returning from Kingswear with the 1Z28 heading to Slough.

60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' steams along through Dawlish, passing us at Cockwood just after 17:55 p.m. on her way up to Exeter St David's along the coast line.

47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' trails on the back of the train, first time seeing a Scotrail livery 47 working in the South-West.

Saturday June 3rd, 2023.

The English Riviera Railtours begin the summer steam excursions to Kingswear. Last year the locomotive for the summer season was 70000 Britannia.

This year, LNER A4 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' takes the spotlight after it's fresh repaint in April earlier this year, wearing 1950s express blue, and looking stunning.

She arrives into Paignton from Slough with the 1Z27 just after 12:30 p.m. Stopping in the station for staffing, before continuing on to Kingswear via the Dartmouth Steam Railway.

Two Railtours an hour apart.

The Retro Devon Belle II, hauled by Class 50 'Thunderer' 50008, storms through Dawlish with a DB Liveried Class 67 Double-Heading to Exeter.

An hour after, the South Devon Explorer with steam locomotive 45596 'Bahamas' steams past Starcross, heading to Bristol Temple Meads.

Returning late in the evening with the 1Z47 from Par, 60103 Flying Scotsman steams along Dawlish Sea Wall as she heads back along the Devon Coast, towards Exeter.

She stops to take water at Exeter St David's before continuing on to Bristol Temple Meads, leaving Exeter in a cloud of steam that has been lit up by the surrounding spotlights, giving it a beautiful lighting effect as she departs.

April 30th, 2023.

The Royal Duchy Tour had the pleasure of being hauled by Gresley A3 Pacific 60103 'Flying Scotsman', arriving at Exeter St David's with the 9:07 a.m. 1Z45 from Bristol Temple Meads.

Heading for Plymouth and then on to Par.

She was a lovely sight to see here in the South-West, did not expect to be at Exeter to catch her coming in.

April 15th, 2023.

The Great Britain XV tour passes along Dawlish Sea Wall, with Black Five 44932 heading the train, sadly 45596 'Bahamas', which was the original locomotive for this excursion, was taken off, so 44932 was sent in it's place.

Still, was a lovely sight, and wasn't expecting to see it honestly.

Passing with the 1Z10 heading to Plymouth just after 13:35 p.m.

9th April, 2023.

Didcot Railway Centre saw the arrival of Furness Railway no.20 visiting during the Easter Bank holiday, the sole survivor of the class hauling victorian trains during the easter weekend.

Furness Railway No.20 hauled trains on the main running line whilst GWR 1340 Trojan, hauled trains up and down on the branch line.

A lovely opportunity to see this engine up close on Easter Sunday, once of the quietest days I've been to Didcot for a long while, and was worth it to see this engine.
