KISS OF LIFE" πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

In 1968, the author received the Pulitzer Prize for this photograph - one of the most prestigious awards in the United States, which is awarded for achievements in music, cinema, theater and journalism.

The picture shows two electricians, Randall Champion and Jay Thompson, hanging from a power pole. That day there was a strong heat and nothing foreshadowed trouble. The hum of air conditioners in July 1967 was heard throughout the state of Florida. Because of them, in the city of Jacksonville, there was an overload of power lines, and this caused a power surge.

Randall and Jay were doing routine maintenance on a live line when Randall accidentally touched one of the wires. A discharge of 4000 V passed through the body and his heart stopped. For understanding: during the ex*****on in the electric chair, a voltage of 2000 V is used

Randall's lifeless body hung from the harness. But his partner Jay did not lose his head, realizing that every second is precious, he began to give him artificial respiration right on the pole. It was very inconvenient, but there was no other way out. In such a situation, it is difficult to conduct a normal resuscitation, but Jay still tried to start his friend's heart until he had a weak pulse.

Only after that he unhooked his partner's insurance and, throwing him over his shoulder, went down to the ground. By the time the rescuers arrived (they were called by professional photographer Rocco Morabito, who happened to be at the scene), Champion was already conscious on the ground.

Not only was he saved, thanks to Thompson, but he lived another 35 years. The electrician died in 2003 at the age of 64.
Thompson is alive today.

Hello you, it's been a while, I hope you're hanging on in thereπŸ‘‹

The current situation for photographers is that we are unable to legally work, due to being classed as non essential services.

Only a few hours now until we find out what the road map out of lock down holds for us all. I’m hoping there will be some good news for photographers and the events industry after such an incredibly hard year❀️

I am desperate to see old clients and new and to re-book all of my postponed sessions back in.

I will be returning for weddings as soon as we get the Green light.

I am also hopeful to be able to offer summer family photography sessions soon, and am busy thinking about lovely locations such as flower fields and water spots. Drop a comment below if you have a beautiful location in mind where you would love to have some family photographs taken?

Keep your fingers crossed for good news and the chance to capture some happy moments like this one, very soon....

Much love xx

An early peek at my first Covid "rule of 6" Wedding. I am working my way through editing this lovely Couple's Gallery, so there will be more to come (:

It was a wet and rainy Wednesday in Warwick but this gorgeous couple were totally ready to rock the rain β˜”οΈπŸ’•

Covid had already scuppered their wedding plans back in May and they were not going to let anything else get in their way!

Congratulations Mr and Mrs T πŸ’•

Personally I think the rain totally enhanced their photos, adding to the drama of the current times!

What do you think?...

Hello!
So..... Autumn Outdoor Photoshoots during half term......
I am just in the process of finalising the details for this and wondered if anyone could suggest some good locations? I usually opt for Coombe Abbey (which is fab) but I'm looking for local alternatives too - woods, parks etc with an abundance of autumn colours! Comment below if you know of any good ones (:

My lovely friend lost her beautiful dog, Ruby, yesterday. She was 15 years old and so loved. In celebration of her life I just wanted to share a few snaps I took of her and my friend at their local Country Park a few years back. Sleep tight Ruby Dog πŸ–€ Thanks for the memories xx

Why hello there! It's been a while..... I hope you are all keeping well. Covid has certainly impacted my photography business (as it has thousands of others).... so apologies it has been a bit quiet here. I am still available for all of your outdoor photography needs so don't forget about me!
In an effort to wriggle my way back into your news feed, I thought I would share my top tips for outdoor photography (: Next time, if it is useful to anyone, I will share my top editing tips too.
Keep smiling and don't forget to document these unusual times!

Here are my top tips for photographing outdoors:
1. Photograph during the Golden Hour (it's areal thing, google it!) - when the light is golden and dreamy. It's the period of time just before sunrise or (more popularly) just before sunset and the light is soft and hazy! It's not just about light either, photos taken during this time are often more dramatic due to the longer shadows cast when the sun is lower in the sky. Currently, the golden hour starts around 6.30pm .....

2. Avoid the midday sun. The light is far too harsh., as are the shadows. If you have to shoot at this time, find shade.

3. Pick a focal point, not multiple focal points, just one. The obvious one for portraits is the eyes but the same goes for a plane in the sky or a building in the distance.

4. Learn the "rule of thirds" it will transform your images.

5. Think about perspective. Take the same picture from multiple angles. Never be afraid to get down low on the ground or to shoot from above, or to get really, really close. Experiment with perspective.

6. Think natural. The leaves on the ground, the trees surrounding you or the flowers at your feet are all the props you need. A dilapidated building or unused railway line can make a fabulous backdrop, it doesn't have to be a typically perfect setting. Really look at what is around you. Children playing and laughing make fantastic subjects, as do animals. Adults can be trickier as they are more aware of the camera but genuine laughter looks fabulous on everyone (: .... Oh....and who doesn't love a crying / squirming face too?! Even seaweed is your friend (:

Hope these help!

Flashback to my lovely Cousin's "surprise wedding" and more specifically, to some of the biggest smiles and most heartfelt embraces I have ever had the pleasure to capture.... "You always gain by giving love" πŸ’•

It was 11th June 2014 when I first posted on this page about my new business venture in photography, some 6 years ago..... over that time I have developed, trained, invested in new kit and have been lucky enough to find a style of photography I fell in love with.... documentary photography or reportage photography as it is sometimes known.

I have moved away from studios, props and bright lights in favour of natural light and REAL moments, unscripted. I cover weddings, family and baby photography in my own unique, natural style.

During lockdown, I have cleared out many of the earlier photos from my albums on this page, that are no longer representative of my style or of the type of photography I love. So apologies from me, if your photos no longer appear on my page but I want to thank everyone who has supported me early on and throughout my journey as you all helped me to find my place in the photography world and a real understanding of and appreciation for the photographs I love the most and want to continue to create πŸ‘Œ

I am up and running again taking bookings for weddings and family photography. I am advising outdoor shoots for all photography needs at the moment, including newborn photography, to keep everyone as safe as possible. I will advise if and when this changes. Documentary style shoots can be arranged in your own garden or at an outdoor location of your choice. Don't forget to have a goosey at the Lavender fields photoshoots I am taking bookings for at the end of this month too 😍

That's the end of my update, in the meantime, I will leave you with this set of documentary style photographs I took of my son around 8 months ago, but have never posted.... until now! Taken in natural light, playing on Mamma's bed πŸ˜†

Hope everyone is safe and well x
