Before I get back out with the camera, the cameras need sorting charging and cleaning. Photography tour booked for my next holiday and I am looking forward to picking up the camera again and seeing what I remember

Lake District

I was lucky enough to stop in Ambleside for a few hours back in 2017 on my way back from Scotland. It was a beautiful summers day, and it was lovely to do a bit of exploring. I have not looked at these photos probably since they were first sorted nearly 8 years ago. A place that is definitely on the list to go back to and explore a lot more .

Weddings
I have had the privilege to photograph 5 weddings over a period of a couple of years. I am not a photographer that likes to do staged and posed shots, I like lurking in the background and just capture the events and the more natural shots. As an amateur, wedding photography comes with a significant amount of stress and worry. The photos won't capture the important moments, the memory card fails, the camera fails, as well as all the things you need to think about such as lighting levels, formal shots, and then there is the editing process. I am glad I had the experiences, I learnt so much and got to work and learn from a wedding photographer on a couple of these. Not something I could do professionally though.

Running

For a few years I really got the running bug, so it seemed only natural that I combine my love of running with capturing runners in action. I have photographed so many of you over the years, and hopefully captured the emotion as you have all achieved great things, and for some completed events that you may never have thought possible. Being on the finish line or at the top of a really big hill were always my favourite spots on course; the elation and emotion at the end, and the determination and focus on the hills made my job really easy. There are a few images that I will always remember and I knew exactly which photos to choose for this mini collection out of the thousands I have taken, all from the same race (the Dartmoor Discovery), but different years. I hope they bring back some memories for you as well.

Whilst I am transferring all my photos from a very old NAS to a new storage solution, I thought I'd share some images over the next few weeks. Each post will be based around a theme or a place almost as a mini collection, and a maximum of 4 images.

I got my first DSLR for my 30th, over 15 years ago and some of these photos I haven't revisited for a very long time, and photos should be enjoyed and not stuck on a piece of technology. With that in mind I also have some plans to address that moving forward.

So the first mini collection is Seville. 2 reasons, I have transferred these photos today, and I have spoken twice recently about what an amazing city it was and how much I want to go back. Seville was my first overseas marathon, my PB for a while, It was a great city to run around and the support, even for this slow plodder at the back was amazing and I still remember that now. The people were so friendly, the food and wine were perfect and I still remember being sat outside on a February evening eating and drinking and just soaking it all in with some great company.

Its been a while since I posted here, or even picked up a camera that isn't part of my phone.. Life, work and new hobbies took over; but lately I have missed not getting out and about with my camera. I have a backlog of photos to go through that have been sat idle on my laptop for the last 3 years and I will start by sharing some of these, as I plan some exciting adventures and experiences this year that will hopefully turn into some amazing photos and memories :)
