Tithebarn Island. I couldn't resist taking look at the local area whilst its dry. Minerva Park took a battering but is draining away in most places. You can't get through to the farm without very long wellies. Be careful driving through Clyst Honiton as the Clyst is over the road. People are driving through it but I wouldn't if you don't need to.

We spent a lovely few hours with .miller.photography at Loch Garten. It was a delight to watch the creature darting about as we got snowed on. They definitely had more stamina than we did.

Robins in snow, what more could a girl want. They are such posers and great characters. They can even look really grumpy. Which shall I choose for a Christmas card next year? These were taken on our fabulous workshop with .miller.photography.

Today we were skillfully guided by Karen through snow, knee deep to find the most glorious hare hunkered down on the hillside. Such a privilege. When you go on a wildlife photography trip the chances of seeing all your target species during your time away it’s very rare, I didn’t think we’d see a mountain hare. We did and we spent ages watching him do his thing in freezing temperatures and a piecing wind. An experience I will never forget. I’m really thankful for all of Karens pre trip advice to buy heated clothing, My gillet and coat coped with the challenging conditions and my did me proud.

Karen took us to see some impressive red deer in the snow. It was a hairy ride on narrow mountain tracks to get there but such a beautiful experience.

Having fun in the snow with a delightful flock of snow buntings. It was delightful to see them in the snow. They are my new favourite bird, what’s yours?

.miller.photography said there would be snow in January. She wasn’t wrong! Scotland is a winter wonderland. We’re hunkered down with an Amber weather warning in place hoping it doesn’t snow too much and frighten all the wildlife off. This was a detour to Eilean Donan with an exciting few miles of driving on powder snow! It’s never worth risking your safety for a photograph but have you had any close calls?
