Let's talk about your email list! 😀
Do you have one?
Have you been growing and cultivating it or did you start one, had a few people sign up to it but have now left it to gather dust?
If you've done the latter, you're certainly not alone and I've definitely been guilty of email list neglect!
We love the immediate satisfaction we get from likes and connections we make on social medial. Email marketing, however, is more of a slow burn but is, nonetheless, an excellent and effective way to really reach and engage with your audience and really shouldn't be ignored as part of your marketing strategy!
85% of British adults use email regularly.
99% percent of email users check their email DAILY.
Of course, we don't want to feel spammy or intrusive when we send emails, but remember, you are reaching out to people who have asked you to. Your subscribers and people who have chosen to recieve emails from you because they like what you do and want to know more!
If you're not sure where to start, (or re-start )here are my tips on growing and maintaining an email list that engages your subscribers and doesn't have them hunting for the unsubscribe button!
-Start with an engaging heading that can't possibly be ignored!
-Importantly, show up as YOU! There are few things that are more annoying in your inbox, more likely to to be permanently deleted than emails from a faceless business. Build a personal relationship with your audience. We don't want to be sold to through our emails, but we do like getting to know more about people and we're far more likely to buy from people we trust.
-Provide value! Think about all the things your audience might want to learn from you and create emails that inform, inspire and reward your subcribers.
-Be consistent! Whether its once a week or once a month, your subscribers should know when they can expect to hear from you.
-Create emails that look beautiful and engaging and consistently reflect you and your brand. Have a consistent font, colour and tone of voice and include professional, eye-catching imagery.
