Perfectly Timed Surprise Arrival

A moment before I took this photograph, I'd seen this wooden post and thought it would be a lovely perch for a Kingfisher. To my amazement, a moment later a Kingfisher lands on it 😂 I couldn't believe my luck.
For all the hours that I usually wait patiently, it's nice when something happens quickly 😊

Sighting of the Crown in the Mist

A majestic stag walks across a field at first light on a very misty day. As the day continued, so did the mist. The red deer stag walked across a few fields to reach his females that were hiding in the tall vegetation.

Overhead Delight.

I've photographed and filmed Ospreys on many occasions, but I don't think I'll ever get tired of when they fly overhead. It's just magical 😊

The Blue Haze of Spring.

It's lovely to see Holly Blues out and about on plants and flowers. A lovely addition of colour when exploring habitats in the newly arrived sunshine. They're also typically one of the first butterflies to emerge in spring 😊

A King Is Still King in the Dark.

In the fog, a Red deer stag is lit by the minimal sunlight at dawn as he emerges from the brush. Then with the fog devouring any sunlight that was left, I observed him standing with authority as he overlooked his kingdom.

I went for a short stroll around a local patch and I couldn't believe how much wildlife I saw 😁 The woodland, the river and the surrounding fields produced some fantastic sightings and absolutely made my day.
I hope you enjoy all the wonderful creatures too 😊

Changing Skies.

The sunsets around this time of year when the Spring season comes around can be truly remarkable. Anything the sun touches at sunset turns into art. That lovely soft light that just manages to beautify anything it touches is a welcome change from some of the really bad weather we've been having recently 😊

Beautiful Brown Argus.

A wonderful butterfly to see when the weather is warm and the skies are clear. They're typically found in southern chalk and limestone grasslands and are widespread in southern and central England, as far north as Yorkshire. They're less common and mainly found around the coast in Wales and south west England.

It was a lovely subject to find on my travels as this species of butterfly is usually calm in nature. They tend to fly low to the ground and more importantly stop rather frequently to perch or feed on flowers, which is perfect for taking some quick photographs 😊
