“You’re allowed to say no to the couple portraits.”

It might sound like a strange thing for a wedding videographer to say, but hear me out.

That statement isn’t really about portraits.

It’s about remembering whose day it is. Some couples love 20 minutes in golden light, and if that’s you, brilliant, let’s do it.

But if you’d rather be laughing with your best mates with a drink in your hand, that matters just as much.

Years from now, the shot of you two clinking glasses with your friends, mid-laugh, will mean every bit as much as a perfectly posed portrait.

Maybe more.

I’ll always ask. I’ll never assume. It’s your day.

“IF I CANT SHOOT SOME SORT OF G*N AT MY WEDDING, IM OUT” 🤣🤣

One of the very few pre wedding comms that has literally made me laugh out loud when I read it, the biggest thing I want to portray in your wedding film is you being unapologetically you, I want you to enjoy your wedding day and not be worried about what I’m going to ask you to do next.

I’m there to observe and document not direct, if you want to shoot CO2 at your wedding then I want you to be in the moment doing it not me positioning you first to get an arty shot because the natural documentary shot is always better.

If you saw this frame from Kristin & David’s Wedding film you would think I asked them to do that pose, it looks ace right?

No I didn’t, I want couples to be themselves when filming, my only advice was… have a practice of your first dance if you want to and what I filmed was absolute gold because they were in the moment being themselves not listening to exact instructions.

When I asked Katie to take a couple of shots on my instax, she jumped at the chance to be my assistant on the dance floor, I didn’t quite realise how good she could multi-task though 🤣🤣🤣

For me a wedding film is about the people, I want you to watch your wedding film back and belly laugh so much you can’t breathe because they are the memories you will cherish most, real people doing real things

When your dogs turn up in Band Biker Jackets you know you are in for some Rock n Roll, Katie & Gustav partied all day long and late into the night with the Rock Covers Band. It was a high voltage day!

NICOLA & BEN // FARMHOUSE AT REDCOATS // AUGUST 26.

Although Nicola was in A&E at 2am the morning of her wedding, that smile did leave her face all day, working on stage the wedding was jam packed with references to shows and musicals and with Bens keen interest in Cricket he had his own nods to his passion also. Laughs, music and a special wedding breakfast entrance made it a truly special day for everyone involved.

“Best choice for wedding films!

Both in the lead up to the wedding and the wedding day itself, Mark has always been a caring professional. He was basically invisible on the day, that’s how discreet he was filming! In the moments we did interact, his calm and funny demeanour were very welcome and reassuring to me and my husband.

Mark went above and beyond on the day, making sure everyone feels comfortable. We could let go and be in the moment knowing he had it all in hand.

When we received our wedding films, Mark reminded us to be mindful of the impact and choose a moment to watch intentionally. We followed his kind advice and I can safely say that all films, from highlight reel to raw documentary footage, show our wedding in the purest form, just like how it felt. In moments when I want to relive the day, I watch the highlight film and I‘m immediately back.

I want to highlight one thing in particular: Our wedding day was quite difficult to film from a technical perspective - suuuper windy (we had to put bricks in the florals to stop them flying away again). There are no sound or visual issues AT ALL. This goes to show how incredible Mark‘s skills are!!”

I always say to every couple aside from if you like a videographers style, you must also get on with them as a person too, you will be spending 10-12 hours with them on your wedding day!

Always have a chat with multiple videographers and see who you vibe with well and know will fit into your wedding seamlessly.
