After the cloisters in the morning, the afternoon was spent around Hudson Yards. I started off with a visit to "The Vessel"
Designed by Thomas Heatherwick, it's had a bit of an up-and-down (pun intended) history since opening in 2019, featuring a mixed reception, and after some suicides, a closure for safety netting to be added.
Also, when I visited, the elevator to the top was "on lunch" so I had to climb up all the steps as well as back down...

The next morning, we hopped on the subway to the northern end of Manhattan to visit the Met Cloisters. An offshoot of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it looks like an old castle or abbey, but is less than a hundred years old. Many of the building sections were transported from their original sites around the world to construct what is a curious mishmash of styles! Inside there's a range of gothic and medieval artworks and items on display.

Once darkness approached, we went up the World Trade Center tower. It started off quite cloudy but cleared up a little later for some nice views across the city. Hard to photograph due to reflections on the glass but I remembered to pack some rubber lens discs which help!
