📰 Scotland toughens penalties for fish poaching

Holyrood has passed legislation introducing stronger penalties for serious fish poaching offences in Scotland, following years of campaigning by the fisheries sector.

The Natural Environment (Scotland) Bill increases maximum penalties for the worst crimes against Atlantic salmon and sea trout. It applies to offences including the use of illegal gill nets, explosives, poisons and electric fishing devices.

Day two kicked off at Ardnamurchan 💡 the most westerly point of mainland Britain 🗺️ before chasing pollack and coalfish along the rugged coast. Wrapped it up with a peaceful sea loch session. Fishing and exploring hand in hand.

Escaped to the Scottish Highlands for four days of fishing, fresh air, and wild scenery. The plan was simple explore lochs, chase trout and pollack, and just enjoy what nature had to offer.Arrived late on the first day, but couldn’t resist heading out to a local loch for a quick evening session. Pouring rain, swollen streams, and midges in full swing… but the rod still came out. That’s what these trips are about 😊 moments, not numbers! trip

Late start, low tide 🌙 but not a blank! 🎣Headed out the other day for what was meant to be just a wee drive, but couldn’t resist checking out two local sea lochs. Tide wasn’t in my favour and I left a bit late, but still managed to get the rod out and enjoy the peace. Sometimes it’s not about catching loads 😊 just the joy of casting a line in wild places. 🌊🚗 🎣

Life got busy lately, and I couldn’t get out on the water as much as I’d hoped — but looking back at this drone shot from a year or two ago reminds me why I love this so much. What a view!
