A very fiery sunset at Musselburgh harbour. The sun has brought some lovely sunsets even if it has still to give us heat. It's been struggling to fight against hail stones today.

I took my kayak out today for the first time this year. Maybe a bit too early, it was far too cold! I would love to get a wee waterproof camera for my kayak, you could get some great sunset pictures from out there. Here is a photo from last summer taking from dry land, credit goes to my girlfriend.

It's amazing the way the twilight can transform a view from farily average to not too bad. Being greeted with a view like this after the climb up Calton hill certainly made it worth it.

Isn't it just incredible how round this ring is. I've been trying for weeks to get a picture of this ring to show you guys. That's why there has been a short break in uploads. I guess the sky is also average.

The fall of Cockenzie power station was met with mixed reactions. I'm sure for some there was a victory dance around a bonfire, I presume the people of Cockenzie have discovered fire. And yet for many more it was painful to see the giant beast slain. It had become a landmark in itself and was the beating heart of East Lothian, providing countless jobs and opportunities for a large number of locals. But even after the fall of its towers and the crash of its mighty turbine hall, the Cockenzie power station jetty lives on peacefully. Having been useless for a few years now it has fallen into a slight state of disrepair, looking sorry for itself. Yet I think this pictures captures it in such a way that it still looks majestic. Almost one last "hurrah" before the power station slips slowly from our minds and becomes a distant memory. A small reminder of what once towered over the small fishing town of Cockenzie but yet, now lies peaceful in a small mound of rubble. East Lothians very own slice of coal fired history.

As promised a few days back, here is the reverse view, looking back towards St Andrews castle. For the avid Window on Scotland fan this may all feel slightly deja vu. Back when this page was just starting I posted a very similar photo, looking at the same view. Having gained slightly more experience since then this photo has turned out slightly better than the previous one. Compared to the previous castle photograph this one is very "cool". The colours in this picture aren't quite the fiery red of a sunset, but more a cool, blue Monday afternoon. So for anyone feeling slightly blue or cool this is the photo just for you.

This photo was another taken on holiday in St Andrews a few weeks back. Taken from castle sands, looking towards the iconic cathedral ruins. In the foreground is the tidal paddling pool, with very little information available about it, it is assumed that it was used as a bathing pool in times gone by. I suspect it must be pretty chilly this time of year! Keep on the look out for a picture in the reverse direction, looking towards the castle in the next few days.

Feel free to like and share, or if you are feeling very adventurous you can now love it!

Oi, Steveo.. . Aye pal....Are you steaming? You've only built half a house.....Wit?....Half a house! Wee Davie is going to have a fit, you bampot.....Tell you what, We'll just say it's an architectural statement or some bo****ks like that.....Aye sounds decent
And many years later the half house stands. An icon in the world of golf, The St Andrews Links Old Course Starters Box.

Left a bit. Left a bit. Nope. Right a bit. Just a wee bit more. Nope not there yet. Left again. Ah there we go, and snap! Ah that'll do only just off centre I guess no one will notice, will they?

Taken in a field nearby Kingsbarns while staying at Morton of Pitmilly.

Musselburgh Harbour, no longer the prosperous fishing hub it once was but it is now the mooring point for many pleasure yachts, providing a safe haven from the turbulent waters of the Firth of Forth. It also seems as though over the years it has developed a leak as this photo clearly shows there is no water in the harbour now. Either that or it could just be to do with this wacky concept describing the sea as being tidal. I guess people will believe anything these days. Either way I hope you enjoy this picture of Musselburgh harbour at night.
