"You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? Come run the hidden pi

ne trails of the forest
Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth

The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends"

Greyfriars Bobby - the most loyal dog!
Greyfriars Bobby (May 4, 1855 – January 14, 1872) became known in 19th-century Edinburgh for spending 14 years guarding the grave of his owner until he died himself on 14 January 1872. His statue is now the most visited one in Edinburgh! There is a bar named after him as well. And it seems that people tend to touch his statue nose!

Rosslyn Chapel!
Anyone who has watched or read “The Da Vinci Code” will probably know about this chapel!
Since the late 1980s, the chapel has been the subject of speculative theories concerning a connection with the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail, hence “The Da Vinci Code”!
The chapel is small but has many interesting carvings and inscriptions. The two main pillars look totally different and there was a story behind it (spoiler: a murder related story 😬😱)
Sorry, no photo of the interiors as it was not allowed..m You’d better visit and see with your own eyes!
To visit this chapel, you can drive/ take bus 37 from center of Edinburgh but note that bus 37 has two destinations. Choose the one to Penicuik and get off at Roslin, else you’ll have to get off in the middle of nowhere and walk back... like me!!! 😥
I just realized that I somehow often visited places related to Dan Brown’s novels either unintentionally or intentionally. This time it was intentional!

Survived in GlenCoe.

When I arrived at Glen Coe, it was raining, foggy, and freezing. I was patient enough to go spend some time at the visitor center to read about the area. And then the sky became clearer and I could get out and do some hiking. Weather favors the...ones who wait, I think.

This is the area of 3 sisters (3 mountains) in Glencoe, the essence of the wild, powerful, amd stark beauty of the Highlands. However, the valley also got the nickname “The Weeping Glen” because it was related to the massacre of the MacDonalds. On Feb 13, 1692, 38 men of MacDonalds clan were killed by the Redcoats (government forces) led by Campbell commander on the orders of King William III. The soldiers did so after being sheltered and fed for 12 days by the MacDonalds, whose leader had been late in swearing an oath to the British monarch! Who would do such thing to their hosts!!! 😡🤬This is definitely an example of authority over conscience! Besides 38 men killed, hundreds more fled through a blizzard and some 40 additional villagers (mostly women and children) died from exposure. 😥
Impressive nature but sad history.

The Hogwarts Express!!!
Not the best spot to get the Harry Potter style photo of this amazing Glenfinnan Viaduct and the Jacobite steam train but since I got little time before the train came, I settled for this location.
And after this, I got flat tyres :(

“One who controls Stirling Castle controls Scotland”
Stirling Castle, located in Stirling, is one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland. The castle has a strategic location in connecting the Highlands and Lowlands of Scotland. As such, it has gone through at least 8 sieges.
I had spent much more time here than I had planned because I met a staff who was very passionate about history and a good storyteller. I was interested in life of Mary, Queen of Scots and discussed with her about some details I felt confused from the movie I had seen on the plane earlier. She ended up telling me about the whole life of Mary, Queen of Scots with some details from her point of view, of course. At first, there were only she and me. When she ended, there was a big crowd and it passed her shift time. 🙏🙏🙏 Really appreciated this! Talking about how doing things with passion can capture other people’s attention (and emotion). Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to ask for her name. But if you visit Stirling Castle and meet the lady dressed in traditional dress guiding you in the Queen’s Chamber, say hi to her for me. 🙏 She was simply awesome!

Rainy days make us appreciate sunny days more!
Yesterday it was raining, cold and foggy on Isle of Skye, making it hard to tour the island. I was wondering how the island looks on sunny days. And then today it was sunny! 🙏🙏🙏
