Not posted since late march and its now June, wow thats good going!

Lots has happened, been busy as hell as per usual, working almost full time in a bar, my course has now finished 1st year so was doing a lot of work in the run up to that and then installing it and the private view and such fun things like that. anyway iv'e got a lot of photos sitting on my mac now ready to be shared if you folks are keen to see them, a distinct shift from scottish landscapes so fair play if its not your cup of tea, but lots of portraiture and iv'e been working only with colour film recently as my final body of work really concentrated and delved into the characteristics of colour and light and cool stuff like that.

This is a portrait of a lovely lady called jess in a alternative style cocktail bar underneath peckham rye station, couldn't resist the gorgeous dappled light creeping its way in.

A photo I shot of H**e a couple of weeks ago for a project concentrating on colour and tones and stuff.

Thoughts out to the people killed in the brussels attacks, was supposed to be flying into brussels airport today and then onto west Africa, trip postponed, but fortunately the attacks weren't later in the day..

The old man of storr on the isle of skye, pretty much a year ago to the week (ish...)

Iv'e been trying to post a little more recently but its all of my new work, including a lot of portraiture and lifestyle type images and a lot of it is shot on film, and it's not quite getting the same response for you guys- which is completely understandable, you lovely folks that have been here for 3 and a half years followed me for my landscapes of scotland and edinburgh and now i'm just posting other irrelevant stuff to that. I'm sorry artists practices chop and change and this path of work i'm on at the moment i'm loving more than ever and feel its some of my best stuff yet.

But to keep you fab people content for a couple of weeks, here's some of that ethereal northern scottish light that we have all been missing.

Thanks

observe the luscious tones of blue and green, hello kodak portra 400, thats where film has the edge over digital!
Shot with a Mamiya 7ii medium format camera, a beauty to use.

In Edinburgh with Jess for the day, lovely sunny day we've been treated to, the castle was looking fine!

Got around to scanning a bunch of film iv'e just had processed, was shooting on a medium format Mamiya 7ii which is a really nice rangefinder film camera.
Shot loads of portraits, but loved this one on Louie - the subtle tones of green with flashes of red, works really nicely, can't wait to print this one in the darkroom.

Brick Lane, shoreditch.

pretty scenes around brick lane as the sun went below the horizon and the neon glow started to emerge, exit light, enter night.
with the addition of the moon in the sky as well!

I'm going to be part of a group exhibition in a bar/gallery space in south London on tuesday, very much looking forward to that.. going to print and mount my work tomorrow and install it so fingers crossed it looks good, i'll make sure and take a few pics of it all installed and post them up here- maybe take them before we start on the beer though, might be a good plan lol!

A 35mm shot of regent street back in november time, quite liked this one.. was shooting on my Nikon F3 with kodak portra 160 but had to push the film to 800 for night time but the vibrant lights of leicester square and regent street area helped out with nailing the exposures, made for some cool low key images with the real nice tones of portra film.

Hi guys, thanks a lot for all your lovely comments about the waterloo exhibit- really kind of you folks!

This is a shot from SCOTLAND, woo not been able to say that in a while- not a recent shot i'm afraid this one was taken a couple of mornings prior to the shot that won the living the view category in the landscape photographer of the year competition, so I figured its relevant enough and i'm quite a fan!
