Sooo thought it was probably about time I properly introduced the person usually hiding behind the camera!
So hey!! I’m Shan! ❤️🫶
I’m the face behind Photography by Shan - photographer, dance teacher, professional over-thinker of photo locations, and someone who gets far too excited when the light is just right 😂
Photography started as something I loved doing for fun, but over the years it’s grown into something I’m genuinely so proud of. My biggest love is dance photography by creating images that show off not only the movement, but the personality & confidence of every dancer.
I also photograph weddings and other special moments, but no matter what I’m shooting, I always want it to feel relaxed, have a wee laugh, and make sure you come away with photos that actually feel like you.
A few random things about me:
📸 I’m much happier behind the camera than in front of it
💃🏼 Dance has been a massive part of my life for years (Demarco Dance Project 🫶)
🌅 I will absolutely chase a sunset if I think the photos will be worth it
🤎 Neutral colours have a proper chokehold on me
📏 I am absolutely tiny, so getting certain angles can turn into a full workout
💡 I come up with the most random, slightly mental ideas for shoots and somehow manage to convince people to trust the process
😂 I say “slay” far, far too often for a 28-year old🫣🫣🫣
📷 And if I say “ONE MORE”… just know I’m probably lying and there’ll be at least another 12
I’m so grateful to everyone who’s booked with me, shared my work, recommended me or even just liked a photo along the way. It genuinely means a lot 🤎
