Until 14th June you can see my exhibition of 13 portraits taken for Edinburgh Universities Medical school and Edinburgh Science festival. It celebrates 300 years of the medical school, highlighting just a handful of the remarkable people involved past and present. It’s a really positive project to be involved with. I love science and got my own personalised TED talk at each shoot. Incredible people, history and stories. It’s currently on at Portobello Prom to mid June 2026.

Angel. From a studio shoot back in 2016. I created the series using a domestic projector with a series of graphic designs. I was just reviewing the original images and loved how this looked in colour. The whole series are available on my Winram Gallery. Link in bio.

I loved that feeling of stepping off the train in Waverley station, cold air in my nostrils, an overladen camera bag and tripod. Pockets stuffed with snacks for the long hours ahead on the foggy streets of Edinburgh.

A wee selection of Dead of Night images taken on the gothic streets of Edinburgh. The men in black are myself, Tom Gardner and Iain Lauder. I loved shooting these in almost total darkness. Technically it’s really tricky but I enjoy the challenge and love the occasional interaction from slightly nervous members of the public. Some ended up as book covers. Bet you can’t name the locations!

Hazel Flew II. We have a tendency to underestimate what we are capable of. We want more freedom but are we the ones holding ourselves back? I loved this shoot. Artist Hazel Terry was so the right person to embody that state of unbound freedom. Check my links to have one hanging on your wall!

I love ladders! I don’t know why but I think it’s because they are a great metaphor for escape or change in your life. I’ve always been drawn to mystery, humour and the esoteric life and I like that these images mirror that. Where would your ladder lead to?

Want one of these classic Scottish locations on your wall? Check out the links.

I’ve been shooting posters for Dogstar Theatre Company for many years. I especially loved this one for their upcoming show, The Testament of Gideon Mac by acclaimed Scottish author James Robertson and directed by Meghan de Chastelain. Matthew Zajac playing the father as well as the devil is the perfect balance to Kevin Lennon's faithless minister. Elements of this are set in a deep gorge so I tried to capture its foreboding feeling with rich colours and an overlay of winter trees. Check out the tour. I can’t wait to see it when it comes to the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh. Dundee Rep Theatre http://www.dogstartheatre.co.uk/
