Here's the first of two groups of photos of the SCOTS Veterans Drums & Pipes playing at the World Pipe Band Championships.

I, unfortunately missed the band performing last year. After being told which ring they'd be competing in, I was waiting for them to appear, but unfortunately, I was told the wrong ring!
I'm glad I caught them this year, though.

I was lucky enough to be invited to perform with the band at the Armed Forces Day event at Ibrox a few months ago, so being able to take pictures of the band is a great way for me to thank them for the opportunity.

Here's my first group of photos from the World Pipe Band Championships.

It was suggested to me that I should apply for media credentials, so that I can enter each of the rings to take photos. I didn't do that, I was suporting the Omani Army band (who qualified for the final btw after being promoted from 4A to 3B this year), but mainly because I have so many friends etc. in pipe bands that I wanted to catch up with them, have a listen to some bands and taste the local delicacies in the b**r tent!

Had a lovely wee day today. A final practice with the Omani Army band before they compete tomorrow, then nipped down to the green to catch up with Frank McGoldrick and listen to some bands.
Now home, and getting ready to head out with wifey for our (belated) anniversary meal!

Good luck to all the bands competing today and tomorrow! Let's hope the weather is good to us all!

Perth Highland Games
