The last few months have truly flown by (as cliché as that sounds) with a new baby, but I’m so looking forward to Autumn weddings again soon. This time of year, as we transition towards the cooler months, had me reminiscing about this special day with Rosie & Al. A slow-paced, meaningful day in an area they both adore and filled with memories for them, with the most gorgeous florals from Marion Blythe Sandwith Ochre Botanical Studios and staying at the lovely The Grandtully Hotel

And a reminder that Scotland isn’t just mountains - there are hidden gems everywhere depending on what you’re looking for. ⁣

I always say that Scotland is a land of magic. It’s a place where you can say your vows at the top of a waterfall as the rain sprinkles down, or hike up a mountain, or admire the wilderness outside whilst sitting by the fireplace.

Happy anniversary to these two who braved all the wild weather in the north of Scotland. What a treat it was to spend the day with you both in some of my favourite locations in this special part of the country.⁣

Summer rain // I’m often asked what to expect for the weather each month in Scotland, and the truth is that you never know exactly what you’re going to get until the day happens. There are significant seasonal shifts in landscape colours, light, and temperatures. But in any season, there could be one day of sunshine and heavy rain the next. That is what makes getting married in Scotland such a memorable adventure - whatever unfolds on your day is your own unique story to embrace.⁣

⁣⁣Just over two weeks ago, our girl Indi arrived at first light and bird song on the morning of my birthday. Born in the water at home as her little brother slept peacefully, and surrounded by the most supportive group of people, it was truly one of the most surreal and memorable experiences of my life. We’ve been enjoying the newborn bubble, watching the rainy days from bed and soaking in the Summer sunshine when it appears. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣Normally, we would head out for an adventure and swim on the Summer solstice, but this year, we took a few photos at home to remember this time in our garden as it blooms with colour and life, and to take in the sweet feeling of having a daughter join our family. 🥹

For Rithi & Nikhil, this shoot was “an ode to our relationship and to create something meaningful that would truly represent us and the city that brought us together. Walking through the cobblestone streets of Edinburgh, Lothian bus rides from the university to Princess Street for coffee, cakes and long walks through Edinburgh’s most iconic locations are some really nostalgic moments for us.” It was so lovely spending time with these two, who have such a nostalgic connection to Edinburgh, and capturing all the simple but meaningful things they love to do together.⁣
