This is definitely a favourite pose of mine to capture, and for Sky in particular I think it shows off his beautiful snowflake coat ❄️

In this particular situation, the glance off to the side was aided helpfully by a tractor driving past which caught Sky’s attention 😅 Basically, there’s always a way to capture the right moment even if your dog is more interested in everything else rather than posing for the camera!

Long time no post! I’ve been pretty quiet on the photography front because life has been pretty busy, but I got to do a very fun photoshoot last week with this fabulous pack of greyhounds 🤩 Believe it or not, this isn’t even multiple photos stitched together, we actually did manage to wrangle all four into one shot and get them all looking in the right direction 👏 (Though I did edit out the leads and helpers holding them - we can only expect so much 😆)

Beautiful snowflake boy Sky on the right hand side of this photo was the star of the show for this photoshoot, so I’ll share a few photos of him on another post 🥰

So this is a wee fun post on the importance of focal length 📷 I took photo 3 first with a focal length of 20mm but my dramatic mountain background wasn’t quite delivering so we come to photo 2: I moved further away from Halley and zoomed in to a focal length of about 44mm - and look how much difference in makes! The mountains look far grander now, but Halley’s still a bit swallowed up by all the interest in the scene, so photo 1 here we come: I zoomed in slightly to 50mm but more importantly moved to the right to change the background a bit and give a bit more space on the left for Halley to look into 🖼️ While we aren’t going to win any photography competitions with the final result, I thought it was an interesting series that showed my thought process a bit when taking photos and also a fun comparison of the photos you can get with your subject remaining in the same position the whole time 🐶

(And then photo 4 is a bonus result of trying to get Halley to look more in my direction by my partner throwing a stone on the ground 🤣)

For someone who is used to photographing a greyhound who is very good at standing still, photographing a 10 week old puppy was a whole new challenge 🤣 Ruby is absolutely full of life and just loved whizzing round the garden with no predictability as to where she’d go next 😂 I’ll be seeing her again in a few weeks so hold for then to see how much she’s grown!
