So annoying when you miss the perfect photo opportunity because you're too busy watching life as its happening!
A beautiful young squirrel has been running up and down the wall outside the kitchen window... He just stopped to have a nibble at some long c***s foot grass growing up from the field and a cloud of pollen completely surrounded his head... It would have made an amazing shot....

I cant believe such a small bit of grass could give off so much pollen with one touch...

Now sat waiting hoping little squirrel comes back before next doors cat appears on her morning mouse hunt ( she left us a baby vole as a present yesterday!)

Although I had shown peeks of the hare picture, I couldnt show the finished version until he had gone to his forever home today.
He was created on linen (a first for me), and needlefelted using carded wool over many hours.
I am lucky to have an amazing picture framer who did a fantastic job of making him look absolutely perfect.

I loved making him, and cant wait to start my next wildlife needlefelt tomorrow.

Made from two layers of merino wool and 4 separate resists which were then felted together....

Next thing i make will be simple....

Never worked on wildlife before so its a great learning curve. ( Im actually working on three completely different projects at the moment... The Hare, a landscape and a 3d vessel so im pacing myself on each so i dont get overwhelmed).
