Hispano HA-1112-M1L Buchon "Yellow 10" / C4K-172 / G-AWHK has been flying in the UK since 2006, and since 2009 as part of the Aircraft Restoration Company. The Buchon is of course a post-war license built version of the famed Messerschmitt 109, essentially a 109G with a Merlin engine. It is a common misconception that Spain received complete aircraft minus the engines when actually just 25 tailless fuselages were supplied to aid with the setup of a production line. It is likely they were never intended to have the Daimler Benz engine and the Spanish always planned to use an alternative powerplant - it just took much longer than expected to find the ideal engine.
