Thought I’d share a few behind the scene shots of my current solo trip to Cornwall! Seen some incredible landscapes and some lovely images to come once I’ve finished editing! Still one day left of lovely weather before I head home. Keep an eye out for my photos over the next week! 😁

It had been bright and sunny earlier that morning, with the landscape feeling full of life, but by mid-afternoon the conditions had started to turn. Out across the Channel you could see the storm building, slowly rolling its way towards the harbour and bringing a completely different mood with it, forcing boats to retreat and the coastline to empty.

I framed the first shot using the sea defence leading out to the marker, letting the movement of the water pull the eye in while that dark wall of cloud took over the background. A lone sailboat in the distance added a real sense of scale against the incoming storm.

Not long after, I found myself drawn back inland to this lone tree standing quietly in a field of rapeseed. With the same heavy skies now overhead, the scene felt completely different to how it had just hours before the bright yellows still glowing, but now set against a much moodier backdrop, giving the whole image a sense of contrast between calm and the approaching change.

A few images from my short trip to Dorset this week! Some lovely conditions for photos on the Monday evening and Tuesday morning however it did begin to cloud over by Lunch which cut my visit short. Will have to return again soon to visit some other landscapes in such a beautiful area!

An early 3am start this morning! Booked the day off work as it was forecast to be foggy this morning at sunrise in Kent although that didn’t happen in the end.

So I got these photos instead when the sun decided to come out around 10:00! I’ve never seen so many bluebells before I was blown away and found myself wandering for hours discovering new parts of the forest. I hope to return again soon when the forecast works out for sunrise! 🙏

The first bluebells I’ve come across this year, found out towards Battle.

It’s always a good feeling seeing those first signs of the season starting to appear, especially tucked away in spots like this with the woodland just coming back to life. I’m hoping this is just the beginning and there are plenty more locations to discover over the next few weeks.

If anyone’s come across any good bluebell spots this year, I’d love to hear about them!

A lone tree standing quietly in a sea of rapeseed.

I’ve passed this spot on my commute for weeks, always catching my eye, but never quite having the time to stop. This evening I finally did just as the sun was setting and it didn’t disappoint.

The movement in the clouds, the warm glow of the fading light, and that single tree holding its ground in all that colour made it worth pulling over for.

A peaceful corner hidden within Ashdown Forest called the Garden of Eden.

I spent some time here slowing things down and capturing the movement of the water as it flows over the layered rock into the shallow pool below. It’s a small waterfall, but the setting makes it feel like a quiet little escape tucked away in the forest.

Long exposures always help bring out that soft, flowing look in the water, especially in places like this where everything feels calm and still. A perfect opportunity to test out some new equipment that arrived earlier this week.
