Sharing the stoke with your mates in the lineup is a magic feeling only us surfers & water enthusiasts know, seeing your mate score some waves right in front of you is a cool thing, and even better when they cheer you on as you surf that wave.

That’s the exact thing I captured in this photo, pure stoke and joy of two mates sharing a moment together in the lineup.

It doesn’t get better than this….

It’s been an unreal run of swell over the last few weeks, let’s hope the rest of March has more of this lined up for us 🙏🏽

An evening spent in the shaping bay with Sam 614 Shapes and steezy team rider shooting & filming some of the shaping process on Jeans signature model, the Starling.

The Starling has become a staple model for Jean in his quiver and the magnum opus for Sam in his range. If you know Jean or seen him surf, you know he rips! This is the very model you would have seen all the crazy barrels and airs he’s being doing at the local breaks and further afield.

It’s always a pleasure stepping into a shaping bay, talking boards, ideas, method, inspirations and all things surf. You can really feel the passion and love for the craft and sport when you step foot into a shapers bay, the attention to detail and watching them shape a blank is art.

Hopefully these photos capture the attention to detail Sam puts into his boards when shaping.
