First post for a while...where the hell does the time go ?!

A few pictures here from last weekend's Jixenwell Gundogs Challenge Finals held at Sandringham. An excellent 2 days and once again, very good planning from James & Davina with help from their great working party to produce and exceptional event that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
There were some wonderful dogs on show and each one was a credit to their handlers. The weather played ball for most of the weekend although the rain started pouring down by the time we got to the very last event...(fancy dress teams).... but the rain didn't dampen the spirits and it was a real fun ending to the weekend.

A few pictures attached from the recent Volucris Gundog Scurry competition held at the Thoresby Eventing Spring Carnival. It's a pleasure to watch and capture the (mainly) young dogs doing their thing and showing us everything they've learnt from their training.
Full credit to all the dogs and all the handlers who competed in the competition or simply 'had a go'.

Volucris offer a great training programme to get the best out of these 'pickers up' of the future

I had planned to keep up with the post's ...but the best laid plans and all that !! After a quiet start the shooting season really kicked in early November and in the blink of an eye, here we are, 10 days away from the end of a busy season that took me up and down the UK. Here's a few images taken during this time and more to follow..just a few more shoot days to cover!!

The 22nd Kennel Club Hunt, Point & Retrieve Championship was held on 18 & 19 November at Faccombe Estate, by kind permission of Faccombe Estates Ltd. The event was graciously sponsored by Skinner's, Sporting Saint - Gundog Training Equipment and BASC - The British Association for Shooting and Conservation. Great day in Lancashire yesterday with the team of guns doing extremely well with some excellent shooting in very bright sunlight. Full credit to the team of beaters who certainly earn't their crust presenting excellent birds in very warm conditions 👌

The Pictures are on my website from the Jixenwell Gundogs Scurry Challenge Final which was held at the Sandringham Game & Country Fair over this past weekend. It was a pleasure to attend the two day event where it was great to witness the skills of the dogs and handlers.
Full credit to James & Davina and all of their team for putting on an excellent competition and my admiration goes to all of the handlers for the sheer dedication needed to get their wonderful dogs to the required level of the competition. The Junior Challenge Final also showed that there is some good talent out there that are on the path to becoming excellent handlers of the future 👌👌
