Watchbell lane in Newport taken last night, a fascinating and well photographed little lane, the unusual shop fronts and unique glass windows transport you back in time.
The use of black and white gives this picture the old time feel and minimises distractions which take away from it's raw beauty.

My husband and I visited Gurnard last night for sunset, as we arrived we were greeted by a number of small sailing ships against a wishy washy sky that didn't hold any promise of a decent sunset, oh how wrong was I? We sat and watched as the milky sky transformed with fiery oranges, pinks and purples as the ball of fire made it's decent towards the horizon.

These are my favourite shots from last night, if anyone recognises any of the people or their vessels, please feel free to tag or share.

Whilst the boys played cards, the girls went chasing the sun, we found it dipping down beneath the trees by St Andrews church in Chale. I just had to turn the car around, park up and jump out quickly to capture these two photographs...

Steephill cove backlit by stars, meteors and the milky way is how we spent our evening and early hours of the morning, this is the result. Only my second time shooting the milky way and I'm quite happy with the outcome, my husband has spent a good portion of time trying to help me with my editing however I'm afraid I have reverted to my more subtle version. Whilst not creating such a wow factor, this is a more honest portrayal of how the evening sky looks to the naked eye.
I am also quite happy that this particular shot shows two meteors from the shower, even though the milky way is over to the right of the frame, my main aim for the evening was to catch a shooting star or two - mission accomplished.

These are Cowes week fireworks, due to an unexpected technical problem (me not having the right lens with me) πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ I ended up with some extreme close ups instead of what I actually wanted but nevertheless, I made the best of a bad situation and these are the results, not up to my usual standard but I still think they're pretty.

A peaceful walk from Seaview to Appley last night rewarded us with a beautiful display of colours throughout golden hour, sunset and twilight. As the tide went out, it left lingering pools of water between the sun kissed ripples in the sand, creating patterns and reflections of colour.

Last post for today!

An afternoon visit to Osborne house was my last little adventure for my week of annual leave, I wanted to take some photographs today that I haven't explored before, focusing more on the grounds and stone statues, the day was warm and there were some beautiful clouds in the sky, this has definitely added to the shots.
