Winslow, Buckinghamshire

I was out on a walk when I heard a rustling in the bushes and spotted this female blackbird holding a berry in her beak.
Just as I took the photo she tossed the berry up and swallowed it, which enabled me to get this mid berry flight shot.

Brymor Ice Cream Palour

This is my 3 year old daughter when we went wild flower picking this summer. I was attempting to recreate some of the photos from last year when we went sunflower picking. She loved the colours of the flowers and used this to my advantage to get some lovely colourful shots of her engaged and interested with the flowers.

Near the village of Acebedo in Northern Spain, up in the Picos de Europa.

I took this shot whilst on a gentle stroll near the village of Acebedo in the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain. I used my camera phone for this shot, as I didn't have my camera with me at the time.

Chater Valley Farm in Rutland

I was up early scouting round for wild flowers covered with the morning dew. Shot it lying resting on my elbows using my Canon 1DS mk ll with 400mm lens at f/4.0, 1/500s. I love the delicate pink, saucer-shaped blossoms of this musk mallow (Malva moschata), a hardy perennial wildflower.

The Ryhope to Seaton former Railway Line.

After a severe illness and decade housebound I have finally gotten a mobility scooter and rekindled my passion for photography.

I have chosen to record the beauty of the nature around Seaham, my home.

I hop my little dog Koko onto my footplate and off we tootle for hourse.

This particular picture was taken during the first heatwave of June on spotting a very diligent and seemingly patient bee on this flower.

The thing was in my sights, I thought, even as I pressed the shutter button but on reviewing the shot all I saw was the cloud of pollen springing off the stamen in its wake.

Photo of the Day

Credit: Notes From Nature

Cragside, Northumberland.

I took this photo around midday at Cragside in Northumberland. I spotted this lone rock sitting in the water and loved how still everything was around it. The reflection almost creates a second rock beneath the surface, turning a really simple scene into something that caught my eye.

A nice reminder that you don't always need a huge landscape to find something worth photographing.

Camera settings:
ISO 800, 229mm, f/5.6, 1/2500. Canon 800D.
