Is it just me? Or do you find receiving, "... mentioned you and other followers in a post", annoying? Or, is this a recognised, acceptable way of reaching out?

The way I look on it is, If I follow you, I'll follow you. I don't want, or need you to solicit my attention in this way.
If I sign up to emails from a company, or other entity, I get the chance to unsubscribe. If you 'mention me and other followers in a post', I don't have that option, unless I 'unfollow' you (and I'd rather not have to do that).

But, that's my view. What's yours, please? And if you do 'mention me and other followers in a post', what do you think of what I've said? (feel free to DM me, if it helps).

A lovely saunter around Saltwell Park today, in prep for a photo-talk at Winlaton Camera Club in two weeks time. That was mainly to take 10 photographs of a particular sycamore tree, which I've photographed several times before. I'll be using the photographs to demonstrate how to combine them into one. I Call the method, Blended Reality (which describes the fact that nothing is added that wasn't there at the time). This is the basis for the Impressionist artworks I produce at Photos For Art UK. The final image is a Blended Reality of the same tree in mid-winter after a dump of snow, a couple of years ago.

Autumn time in the UK is often storm season. And Autumn 2023 has lived up to expectations. Storms can understandably, make people want to stay indoors in warm coziness. For photographers though, storm can provide a harvest of photographic opportunities. I was on a 3-day visit to North Wales with three photo-buddies of mine (as part of Gallivanting Cameras of Durham Facebook Group) . We had some lovely weather on the day we visited Portmeirion. But, that all changed on the day we toured Anglesey.
When we got near South Stack, the winds blew even stronger and the rain was almost horizontal. We had a 2 mile walk into the 30 MPH storm. But the journey was worth it, as you may agree from this view of South Stack Lighthouse.

South Stack Lighthouse is built on the summit of a small island off the north-west coast of Holy Island, Anglesey, Wales. It was built in 1809 to warn ships of the dangerous rocks below. You can imagine how treacherous these waters can be on a dark, stormy night.
