Change of scenery today. A beautiful day spent beating on the last day of the shooting season and what a great day it was. Already looking forward to next season. But for now it's back to the salmon. Thanks for having me 🥃

So, what are Smolts? And why does this matter?
In the spring our team are on the river tributaries measuring and tagging our Smolts, but non anglers regularly ask me what a Smolt is!
The video link below tells the unique story of our Wild Atlantic Salmon, and we must do everything we can to protect this amazing species on our beautiful River Dee. Click to watch and follow our pages for updates on our Smolts and their migration from freshwater to saltwater in the next few weeks.
