The Group Shot!!
Unfortunately Instagram won’t let me show the full picture on my grid (if you’re wondering why some people have been unceremoniously cropped!!)

I am going to be completely honest and admit I have a love/hate relationship with this type of photo.
-
I love that they can capture every guest in attendance and it’s great to have a memento of all your guests.
-
I hate having everyone looking at me and I don’t like the pressure of having to get this shot right and usually quickly! (No one likes standing around at weddings for photos for too long…especially when the bar is open!)

This particular shot kept me awake the night before…It was taken at the Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews. For those that haven’t been (it is a great venue for a wedding) there is a glass atrium in the roof over the area between the guests and the camera. I was really worried about how the light would affect the shot…I knew I would need my tripod to keep the camera steady and was relying on all the guests staying relatively still for the shot too…not an easy task!!

Fortunately the sky had greyed over when this was taken, which made it a little easier (and if you look closely, you may recognise a couple of the guests)

One of my favourite parts of photographing a wedding is capturing what happens behind the scenes.

The getting ready shots! The pre-match nerves, the banter between the groom and his best man or the bride and her bridal party.

These are the bits you will remember!

This picture was from the first wedding I covered back when there was strict lockdown rules. It didn’t stop it being a fantastic day that was a pleasure to be involved in!!

Who doesn’t like a black and white wedding photo?!

This is from Lisa and Lee’s wedding from November last year.

Lisa and Lee were a lovely couple to work with. Most weddings have one or two memorable moments…this wedding had hundreds (if you know, you know! 🤣)

This was the first time I had photographed a wedding at It’s a stunning venue and the staff there were amazing!

Hi, I’m David! (the bald one taking the selfie, just to be clear!)
I am a wedding photographer based in Fife, Scotland.
Some people may know me from my page, however I decided to rebrand the wedding side of the business.
For me, weddings are all about fun, love and magical moments!
My ideal couples are fun, laid back and want to inject a bit of personality into their wedding photography.
