1st attempt , half baked effort , no practice or as Ferris would say " not one lesson "

We don't think these will win any awards but as previously stated these are or first efforts at photographing a Solar Eclipse .Taken about 20 minutes ago from Our veranda in Dundee .

When you need somewhere to go to just enjoy some peace , to refill your mojo then a walk in the woods comes highly recommended . It always seems to work .

This particular wood is Caddam on the outskirts of Kirriemuir , sadly no Red Squirrels this time ,

( note to self - I must stop watching the news , it's so depressing )

Think it's about time for another Evie update , I really can't remember when I posted the last one . So here is the Little Lady with her Daddie and Grandad having a wee play in the woods .

It was a roasting hot day and a slight change of plans from a day at the beach but hey we all know seaside or woodland they are both my happy places and hopefully Evies' too .

Gotta teach them young ❤

Remember that "Adventure" I mentioned ?

Q : Did we go ? How did it go ? Was it a success ?

A : Yes . Brilliantly and Yes .

We did get some photos of the harbour , we did get our weekly shop done at midnight but we didn't get the noctilucent clouds ( too cloudy )and we never managed to stay out for sunrise ( too tired ) .

So how do we measure success ? well by the smile on our faces throughout the adventure and the great sense of satisfaction on our journey home.

These are just 3 of the photos we managed . The owner of the harbour doesnot wish it's location broadcast so please don't ask and if you do know we would appreciate if you would not mention it in the comments . Thank you .

"Widows and Bairns" an extremely poignant series of statues to commemorate a fishing disaster in 1881 when 189 men left to go to work to put food on the table and never came home . These depict the forlorn hope of the wives and children left behind , looking out to sea for any kind of positive sign their men will return.
Here is Our small tribute to all who have gone to sea to feed Us but never returned . Hope you feel them as we do xx

Adventure imminent !!! Here's hoping tonight goes to plan but then again when does it ever ? If it does , you'll see the results , if it doesn't you wont .😂

Clues ...... it's a 2 hour drive from Dundee to the most picturesque wee harbour ( somewhere we haven't been before ) , it's for sunset and then hopefully noctilucent clouds and finally somewhere for sunrise ( don't know where yet ) . Weekly shop , breakfast then bed .

A lot can go wrong , mainly clouds .

In the meantime here's a sunrise set I took a few weeks ago, all shot around 20 minutes from home . Enjoy and keep your fingers crossed .❤

Two people , two sunsets , one from the west and one from the east both within 3 days of each other .

Here we have a sunset from the Isle of Seil and one from Crovie ( pro - Crivie ) Both are beautifully quaint wee villages by the sea although one is more exposed than the other . These were taken at the end of June during a couple of evening adventures .

It really does the soul the world of good to experience such wonderous scenes and have such deep feelings of calm . Highly recommended.

Seil Island is just to the south of Oban on the west coast of Scotland and truly worth a visit if you're ever in the area whilst Crovie is on the opposite side of Scotland right next to Gardenstown ( north of Aberdeen ) . we have only taken photos of Crovie from afar as I couldn't be bothered with the walk . You have to park you car at the top of the cliff and walk but the other night I must've had an extra weetabix or something because we decided to walk down ( and up ) for the sake of a photograph . Was it worth it ? I'll let you decide .

There are some photos that should be posted on their own . When I was thinking about this I wondered why people like certain images ? Maybe because they evoke a memory from a time long ago , possibly just because they are wonderfully composed , surely an interesting subject must be one , how about the photo show a place where you have been and loved , a scene that portrays peace and tranquility and of course maybe just because it is beautiful .

If you have anything to add to the list please feel free because , let's be honest , art is subjective .

This particular image was taken by Donna when we visited Branklyn Gardens in Perth ( well worth a visit if you're in the area ) . A beautifully vibrant red rose with the water droplets glistening on their resting place of the soft petals .

To me this ticks a lot of those boxes I mentioned earlier , I hope it does for you to .

" Hello again , hello . I just called to say hello "

It has been a wee while I know . In fact yesterday was the first sunrise I have been out for in a few weeks and I was treated to a truly nice one , as I hope you will agree .

I didn't have to travel far , just a few miles to a wee road above Glamis . I still had to get out before 3 mind as sunrise right now is just after 4 am so I was a tad bleary eyed all day yesterday .
