A real moment.

Story of one image shared by few

This gentleman came in simply to enjoy a quiet pint and read his newspaper. Under the bench beside him was his old dog, patiently keeping him company.

We chatted for a moment.
I told him I recognised him from one of my previous visits. I asked if he would mind me taking a photo and he kindly agreed.
I told him not to pay any attention to me.
I didn’t want it to look posed, and I didn’t need a smile for the camera.

I spent a moment playing with his dog, giving him a little belly rub, and while he was focused on his newspaper I quietly captured this image — completely natural, just as the moment was.

Sometimes the most beautiful photographs are the ones that simply show life as it is.

Yes… that’s me. 😂
My very first Christmas Mini Session in the studio back in 2004
I printed so many photos that year and turned each one into a Christmas card for my friends and family. Everyone got a different image. :D

It was the time before I knew Scotland would become my new home.
Before I knew I’d be photographing kids and families here every Christmas.
Funny how life leads us exactly where we’re meant to be.

Feeling grateful today during when I found it :) 🎄📸✨

Afternoon Tea with a View at Bayswell Park Hotel

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing a local hotel and restaurant’s *Afternoon Tea for Two* and what a treat it was!

Delicate sandwiches, mouth-watering pastries, and sweet little desserts, all beautifully served with a stunning view of the cliffs and the sea.
The combination of great food and this coastal scenery was simply unbeatable, and capturing that feeling was pure joy. 😊

I have to admit, I was very smart that morning.
I came after breakfast, because the smells were absolutely irresistible! 😅 It would’ve been hard not to “accidentally” taste one of those mini sandwiches or pastries. 🫣

Dusk magic in the garden 🌙

There’s nothing quite like photographing outdoor spaces as the sun sets.
Recently, I captured a beautiful Airbnb flat with this garden in Edinburgh, complete with a hot tub, right at dusk — and the difference is remarkable.

Why dusk works so well for exterior shots:
- Soft, balanced light – The fading natural light combines perfectly with garden lamps or hot tub lighting, creating a magical, inviting glow.
-Atmosphere and mood – Twilight adds depth and warmth, making the space feel cozy and private.
