Rachel’s favourite wedding guest couldn’t actually make the wedding.

Andy the horse was sadly missing from the big day because, unsurprisingly, getting a horse into a wedding venue isn’t exactly straightforward.

So we made a plan.

Wait for a perfect evening.
Get Rachel back in the dress.
Head out into the fields.
And give Andy his moment.

And honestly, the weather absolutely showed off.

Warm hazy light, trotting through the fields, laughing, messing around having the best time.

A pretty good excuse to get the wedding dress back on. 🐴

You know spring has officially arrived at Mabie when this wall looks like this 🌸

Louise & Stewart What an amazing early spring day we had for these two at Mabie House Hotel.

There are a couple of weeks every year when the clematis beside the hotel absolutely bursts into life, and when you turn up and see it looking like this, you just know it’s going to be a good day.

A beautiful outdoor ceremony in the Mabie grounds, with the lovely Lindsay Mason Ross taking charge  full of fun, laughter and all the good stuff.

We made the most of everything Mabie has to offer for their couple shoot, including a quick trip down to one of my favourite little spots nearby. Not too far that Louise & Stewart weren’t away from their guests for long at all .

Then it was straight back into the action for plenty of laughs, good vibes and a proper party into the evening.

Thanks so much for having me along, you guys are just so much fun. An absolutely brilliant day from start to finish  and a huge thanks to all the staff at Mabie and the amazing suppliers who made this spring wedding such a belter.

Living for that deep summer golden hour.

We’d been planning this engagement shoot pretty much all summer, just waiting for one of those perfect evenings in the hills. It took us a while to get there, but I think it was definitely worth the wait.

One of my favourite wee secret spots — tucked away in the hills with some absolutely epic views. In summer, you could honestly just sit up here, chill and watch the sun disappear.

The countdown to Lauren & Josh’s wedding is officially on now, and I already know it’s going to be an absolute belter. 🤍

When you think you’ve nailed the ring upgrade, but your wife has been plotting something of her own.

Trying something a little different with this one. A little photo journal from Loune-djenia & Moses’ incredible vow renewal at Auchen Castle. Flying everyone over from the sunshine state for those epic castle vibes.

And honestly, May at Auchen is hard to beat. An outdoor ceremony surrounded by those massive pink and purple rhododendrons popping off everywhere in the background. Spring doing its thing. 

Moses loved showing off his new upgraded wedding ring for Loune-djenia. What he DIDN’T know was that Loune-djenia had the same idea and had a brand-new ring waiting for him too. 😂 Safe to say, Moses was completely caught off guard.

There’s always something extra special about photographing the wedding of someone you’ve known all the way back to nursery. 

Sherie & Cobban tied the knot at the beautiful Crichton Church, with Lindsay Mason taking the reins for a lovely, fun and bright ceremony, finished off with a little jumping of the Broom.

The weather definitely wasn’t playing ball for parts of the afternoon, but they just rolled with it. A couple of brollies, the right attitude, and we still managed to get some absolutely fantastic photos  before the weather made it up to us with an unreal sunset to finish the day 🌅

Back up to the beautiful Mabie House Hotel for the reception and a perfect little surprise mid-meal too, with my good friend Ewan from Shade of Sax appearing for a set and getting the whole room absolutely jumping 🎷

Sherie & Cobban, thank you so much for letting me be part of your day. It’s always amazing photographing a wedding, but even more so when it’s someone you’ve known for pretty much most of your life.

Massive shoutout as well to all the suppliers, venues and everyone behind the scenes who helped make their day absolutely perfect 🤍

You asked, I listened… after a two-year break, the Late Summer Mini Sessions are back! ☀️🌊

It’s been TWO YEARS since I last did these, so it was about time we brought them back for a little late summer run throughout August & September!

We’ll be heading to one of my absolute favourite little coastal spots with some late afternoon/early evening glow, beaches, and plenty of good vibes.

Perfect for couples, families, engagements, the dogs, or anyone wanting a chance to enjoy those last summer evenings and capture some lovely memories before summer comes to an end.

Shoot dates will be postponed if we get bad weather.

Ross & Rebecca's wedding at Crichton Church and the Easterbrook Hall was an absolute belter.

It's always a pleasure being back at the Crichton Church and Easterbrook. It's such a classic Dumfries wedding venue, and no matter how many times I'm there, it never gets old.

After a lovely church service, we made the most of the grounds around the Crichton for some portraits before everyone headed over to the terrace for cocktail hour. It was great just wandering around, catching all the laughs, hugs, conversations, and those little moments that make the day feel so real.

Then, just before the evening got underway, we snuck away for an impromptu golden hour stroll back towards the church. The light was playing ball for a change, so we took our time, had a good chat, and came away with some of my favourite photos from the day. Sometimes the unplanned moments end up being the best ones.

Ross & Rebecca, thank you both so much for having me there. It was brilliant getting to spend the day with you, your families, and your friends, and I'm so grateful you trusted me to capture it all.

A massive thank you as well to everyone at the Easterbrook Hall and all of the suppliers who helped everything run so smoothly. ❤️
